The Board of Visitors is an assembly of successful men and women, alumni and friends, who are committed to the growth and development of the University and its mission and service to youth. Members exercise judgment, leverage support, apply skills and share resources for the common good of the University. Board members support the Visitors Fund.

Board of Visitors supports student life and faculty development.
Chairman of the Board Ken Yelton '82 notes that Wingate students and faculty have benefited from 121 grants totaling over $350,000 in nine years. About $40,000 in grants are awarded annually to a wide variety of projects both on and off campus. Grants are for activities not covered by the university budget.
Past grants have provided financial assistance for students to go on mission trips, create undergraduate research journals, host keynote speakers and purchase textbooks. Faculty grants support needs such as faculty research projects, sabbatical travel and post-graduate education.
Board members meet twice a year in spring and fall. Members serve a four-year term, give or secure a gift to the Visitors Fund, and recruit one new member to the Board during their four-year term. Board members interact with students and faculty at Board meetings and campus events.
